Don't know how they do it
Now I have written in the past about how lots of people come here to work. They work crazy long hours, get pretty well exploited and then send money back home to their families. Now if your sending your money back home, that means they are not with you. And when I speak of family, I do not mean aunts and uncles and grandparents, I mean your wife and kids. And they do this for, sometimes, years. You have couple who have been married mere months and the husband takes off for the middle east to work. I heard of one case where the couple got married over a mobile because the husband couldn't get back to India to participate in the wedding. I don't know how people do this. Its been 3 or so months since Jaclyn and I have last seen each other and its painful. I don't know how people do years... and they're married! I guess in some cases life is bad enough to almost force them into making this decision, though sometimes you wonder how bad it has to be for this to happen. In some cases you wonder if their lives are truly that bad, and you question whether or not they have a true understanding of what 'quality of life' means. Though there are too many situations like this to blanket with a single explanation, though I do know that there are a lot of hurting people, both here and back at 'home' (wherever that is for these people). I'm sure you have kids who have never met their fathers and wives who haven't seen their husbands in years. There is the odd phone call and money that shows up, but how does one continue a relationship like that?
