Equality... um... not so much

So as I have alluded to over the last little bit, there isn't really one set of rules that apply to everyone. If your Bahrain national, you can pretty well get away with anything short of murder. If they are involved in a car crash, it certainly will not be their fault, or at least they will not be responsible for any of the damage. Arabs have a set of rules that apply to them, they are quite looked after legally and they know that they have all the power here. Now if your a western ex-pat, you are in a pretty good position, they love to curry our favour and treat us well. They pay us huge amounts of money to come work here and its good for us. Although shop owners will charge us much more then anyone else because obviously we must be rich. Unforuntatly ex-pats from the east, say Indian, Bangladesh, Pakistan, or places like that, are right on the bottom of the barrel. They are used and abused, they really have no rights, they are treated as close to sub-human as is possible. Although they make up, I'm pretty sure, a majority of the population, they are not treated all that nicely. So there are almost 3 sets of rules (and expectations) that exist. Rules that are made to protect ex-pats only protect some of the ex-pats, while these rules are ignored for others. Treatment varies greatly between groups and all in all our whole idea of equality for all is not really used at all. Its a sad truth, but a truth none the less.
